It is common knowledge that women love with their ears. But when those ears are not very good with English, the only way to charm the Ukrainian lady you are corresponding with, is with the content of your letters. Think about it: when you meet a lady in person, it takes both of you less than a minute to create a judgment of each other based on your behavior and looks. In this way you risk to miss the right person simply because you were both too quick to jump to a conclusion. So please use correspondence to gradually reveal your exciting worlds to each other, and to make your lady admire and appreciate you for who you really are.

Would you like to do more? In the Russian language names have endless choice of suffixes, which can make any name sound very tender. For example, a lady called Elena can also be called Lena, Lenochka, Lenochek, Lenusya, Lenusik, Lenchik and so on. Ask your lady which tender form she prefers or you prefer, and use it to stand out.

 

 

Remember the names of the lady’s children, parents, and pets. Then if you were to mention the people she loves by name in your letters, she would be very impressed.

But however disappointed Ukrainians are with their government, they would hardly allow anybody to criticize its policy. Past relationships are better kept to yourself, at any stage of your relationship.

 

Nobody likes listening to other people’s problems in detail; just mentioning it briefly is usually enough. Even if you write about some difficult situation, try to find the positive side of it and show your lady how you can solve it.

 

If you receive a message from a lady and she sounds down, try to be understanding and supportive. Bad weather, layoffs, or a sudden illness could be a reason for her melancholy. Your wish to help is quite understandable and a bouquet of flowers would raise her mode. However be warned of money requests, which are totally unacceptable for a healthy relationship.

Of course this is just a rough idea of a structure. What I am trying to say is try not to overdo one part at the cost of the other, as all parts are important. If you ask too many questions, and do not tell anything about yourself, it would sound boring and a lady would get a feeling that this is an interview. If you tell too much about yourself and do not ask any questions, a letter might sound too self-centered and it would be hard to reply to such letter. Make your letters easy and interesting to reply. Reread your letter and restructure it, if needed, and then paste and send.

 

Planning how many children you are going to have and what you will do when she moves to you is wonderful! But it works only when you have met already and plan to get married, when you are confident about your relationship.

Otherwise it can scare off your lady. When you have not yet met, it is not easy to imagine who your common children will look alike more and it might sound that you are just playing games with her heart. And if your relationship does not work for some reason, the pain from the dreams which are not meant to become true, can be very deep. 

Ukraine has been independent for almost 20 years now, which is why still calling us a part of Russia can sound a bit offensive. Ukrainian culture and traditions are rich and varied, our culture is old and rich. We have many religious holidays as well as state Ukrainian holidays, do not be surprised that your ladies mentions them almost every week – Ukrainians love to celebrate;-)

 

It is good when you use jokes and humor in your letters. However, please remember that humor does not translate well, so our translators have to interpret the whole situation to make your joke clear. Be sure that your lady understands your humor. It is good when you put a smile icon along with your joke.

A day will come and you will meet with your Dream Lady. Always be mindful not to become another person – younger, thinner, taller etc., however tempting it might be, be yourself. This happens surprisingly easily so please be on guard to represent the real you – it is important that she appreciates you and loves you for who you actually are.
